Kaia Fowler

Kaia Fowler is a Music & Reiki Artist, singer-songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, writer and educator known for creating transcendent experiences of comfort, courage, and connection. Described as "a tremendous lyricist" by the Americana Gazette, and "a gifted songwriter and vocalist" by Folk Festival program host Lilli Kuzma, Kaia Fowler's music sings to the soul. With decades of experience giving performances at music venues, festivals, retreats, spiritual gatherings, and social justice events, Kaia Fowler invites listeners into the moment with her passion, vulnerability, and vibrant voice. 

 

Kaia took up guitar playing and songwriting as child, and, throughout her life, she has poured her observations on life's struggles, longings, joys, and sorrows into songs. In performance, Kaia’s energy and authenticity invite listeners to transcend the day-to-day, getting at the heart of the human experience in the way only music can. Her sound integrates beautifully resonant vocals with guitar work that ranges from delicate finger style to percussive strumming. Her style, though her own, carries echoes of the popular singer-songwriters of in the 1970s, including Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, and Bonnie Raitt.

Kaia Fowler has released two full-length albums and an EP All the Way (2015). Her latest album, One Breath, features songs of hope and healing and celebrates the oneness of all. One Breath placed on the Folk Alliance International “Top Albums of the Month” chart for July 2022 and received international radio play.  The album was described as “Breathtaking” by Lilli Kuzma, Host of "Folk Festival" on WDCB Radio. 

 

Based in Wisconsin, USA, Kaia Fowler has performed numerous times at the acclaimed Café Carpe in Fort Atkinson, Wis. since her debut there in 2010. She has given solo shows at the Coffee House in Milwaukee, Wis. and numerous other folk venues in Wisconsin and Illinois. She has several times has been featured by the Madison Folk Music Society at the Willy Street Fair. In addition to playing music venues and festivals, Kaia Fowler has performed music for retreats, spiritual services, social justice events, and other community events. ​​See the Shows page for a list of past events.​

 

A Reiki Master in practice for more than 10 years, Kaia infuses Reiki energy and other therapeutic elements into her music and other creations. She invites you into a transcendent experience infused with Life energy. She hopes to inspire and nurture lifelong flourishing by courageously sharing from her own experiences and her observations as a fellow traveler and witness in this world.
